SUP Norway - 5 Day Fjord Expedition Holiday

If you are going to stand-up paddle, then why not do it in one of the most stunning Edens on earth?

In a recent survey, 'National Geographic Traveler Magazine' rates the Norwegian fjords as the number one travel destination from a list of 115 locations around the world!

This five-day guided expedition will take you to the heart of the real Norwegian wilderness. Imagine paddling your board next to a 1700 meter mountain, knowing there's a 1200 meter deep fjord beneath your feet.

Around every corner is a new delight, another breathtaking scene another perfect waterfall. Paddle with schools of 'niser' (porpoise) almost every day, encounter seals and even majestic sea eagles. Sleep under the stars and let the distant rumble of hundreds of waterfalls lull you to sleep.

If you yearn for adventure and heart-achingly beautiful nature, then this is the trip for you.

Sognefjord is the longest & deepest navigable fjord in the world and one of it’s arms – Nærøyfjord – is undoubtedly the most spectacular.

Imagine paddling the spectacular Nærøyfjord, surrounded by sheer mountain cliffs and snow-covered peaks that rise up to 1700 meters above sea level, with perfect waterfalls and picturesque villages along it’s length.

The Nærøyfjord is a truly stunning, awe inspiring place and a UNESCO world heritage site of outstanding natural beauty. At 17 km long and only 250 metres wide at the narrowest point, stand-up paddling through Nærøyfjord is one of the most dramatic fjord trips there is.

At this time of year there are about 20 hours of light and our days are long and relaxed. Wake up with the waterfalls sounding like distant surf through your tent. Brave one for a cool wash, then breakfast with your friends to talk about the coming day’s paddle.

When all are ready, we break camp and launch our boards. Gliding under towering cliffs, you teach yourself to paddle silently so as to take in your surroundings totally. We pause often as opportunities present themselves to film, photograph or just take in the magnificence. Varied camp-sites lend themselves to different activities and at the end of the day you will find yourself in good company laughing around the camp fire or taking some time alone for a moment of zen in some of the most wonderful surroundings mother nature has to offer.

Group numbers are kept small to provide an intimate feeling to the expedition and to minimise our environmental footprint. A low guest to guide ratio is maintained to maximise safety and ensure personal attention.
